†, A. Hoogerwerf. |
In 1973, 1974 and 1975 I visited St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles. During these visits I spent much time observing birds on this island, while short excursions were also made to the neighbouring islands Saba and St. Eustatius. The periods of our visits were: ST. MARTIN: 7-19 April, 30 April-3 May and 11-19 May 1973, 1-7 and 16-27 February, 2-11 and 18-31 December 1974, 6-13 January 1975. SABA: 4-8 May 1973. ST. EUSTATIUS: 8-10 May 1973, 8-15 February and 12-17 December 1974. |

A manually operated weeder for dry land crops was developed and evaluated to find its performance. It was compared with other available weeders namely wheel finger weeder, wheel hoe and conventional weeding by using trench hoe for groundnut crop at four levels of soil moisture content of 13.52, 11.63, 9.52 and 8.04 per cent (db). It was found that the heart rate, oxygen consumption rate and energy consumption rate increases with decrease in soil moisture content for all the treatments. The highest performance index of 3689.74 was obtained with developed weeder at 11.63 per cent moisture content. Lowest plant damage (2.46 to 7.96%) and lower energy consumption rate (8.34 to 40.05 kJ/min) with highest performance index... |

Department of Water Resources Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Nigeria) Abstract: A water audit of the Hadejia river sub-catchment of Komadugu Yobe River basin of Nigeria (KYB) has been carried out. The available water in this sub-catchment was compared with existing and potential water demands; results show that about 2,619 million cubic meters (MCM) of surface water is available annually upstream of Wudil (HS 1), 658 MCM is available between Wudil... |

Four monotypic genera have been described for Deuteromycetes with superficial, crustose or pulvinate, setose conidiomata and hyaline, septate stauroconidia consisting of a main axis and 2—3 apical branches. The types of Fumagopsis Spegazzini (1910), Vonarxia Batista & Bezerra (1960) and Kazulia Nag Raj (1977) are specimens collected in South America. All develop superficially on living or decaying leaves. Phalangispora constricta Nawawi & Webster (1982) has been described from a pure culture isolated from conidia collected at Malaya. Fumagopsis trigliphioides Speg. has been redescribed by Van der Aa & Van Oorschot (1985) from the type specimen collected in 1909 in Argentina on leaves of Lucuma neriifolia. It... |
